Eyelash extensions provide length and thickness to your natural eyelashes thereby enhancing the allure of your eyes. Premium quality, eyelash extensions need to be applied professionally to blend with your natural eyelashes. Be it for a special occasion or every day wear, you can opt for eyelash extensions for a natural look and feel.
Semi-permanent lashes give longer, thicker and natural looking lashes that can last as long as your lash cycle. Virtually weightless and applied to your own lashes one by one. Darker than your own lashes there is simply no need to wear mascara. Shower, swim, sleep or cry they wont fall out!
Usually an eyelash application procedure takes about 2 hours, depending on the number of extensions being applied. Eyelash extensions are individually applied to the natural eyelash, they last for 6 to 8 weeks the average life of a natural eyelash however will begin to look spare after a few weeks unless maintenance is done. The lash extensions are curled to replicate the curve of the natural lashes, flat at the base and fine at the tip. Special bonding agents are used to attach them to the natural lashes. These adhesives dry on the lashes but allow them to remain flexible and bouncy.
It is normal to lose a few false eyelashes in the first 24 hours whilst the adhesive is setting and care should be taken in this period. Your own lashes shed naturally and new ones continue to grow in a replenishing cycle. We naturally shed 2 – 4 lashes from each eye in a day. The semi permanent eyelash extensions will last as long as the cycle of your natural lash. Touch ups are recommended, every 3 – 4 weeks depending on your individual needs. Your after care will affect how long your false eyelashes last.
Be gentle with the lashes after an application session and refrain from rubbing your eyes or showering for a day or so. Take care of your eyelash extensions by washing your eyes gently and patting lashes dry.
Prices:
Patch test and initial consultation £15 – this is a deposit and will be taken off your first full set cost.
Full set £40 (£25 to pay on the day after deposit taken at patch test)
In fills:
The cost of the maintenance for your lashes depends on how well you look after them and how long it is between appointments. Price is from £15 - £30.
In fill appointments are only booked on the understanding that you still have around 40-60% of your lashes left. If they have all come out you would need to book a full set. These lashes last wonderfully if you look after them!!
Removal: Free if the lash extensions were done by myself, £15 if someone else did your extensions.
*Please note lash extensions need to be professionally removed if you decide you no longer want them on, please do not attempt this yourself or you risk pulling your natural lashes out. Towards the end of your lashes life if you do not have maintenance it is very tempting to pull at the lashes that remain but this should be avoided!!
Q: Why do i need to come for in fills?
A: Your natural eyelash growth cycle is between 30 and 90 days. All of your eyelashes do not fall out at the same time, they replenish gradually day by day. You may lose 2 or 3 lashes per day and when your lashes are short you don't notice it, but with an extension there is a length difference.
Q: What do I do before I come in for an eyelash extension appointment?
A: You should clean your lashes with a mild, oil free cleanser. Do not use mascara or perm the lashes.
Q: Is the extension glued to my skin?
A: No, the extensions are glued 1-2mm from the base of the eyelash and the extension and glue does not come into contact with the skin.
Q: Are the eyelash glues recommended for sensitive skin?
A: This should not be a problem as the eyelash extension and glue do not come in contact with skin. The extension is applied directly to the natural eyelash not the skin but reactions can still occur which is why I ask you to have a patch test.
Q: I sleep on my stomach. Will this affect my lashes?
A: If you sleep on your stomach or sleep with a pillow or blanket over your head, the longevity of your lashes will be diminished. If you sleep on your side you will notice that the side that you sleep on will lose lashes a bit more than the other side.
Q: How do I maintain my lashes?
A: Do not wet them for the first 24h. You need to brush your lashes regularly with a clean mascara brush or eyelash comb. Top ups on a 4 week basis are required to replace lost lashes. After several touch ups, I may suggest a new set to keep the lashes looking fresh and new.
Q: Are lash extensions water proof?
A: Eyelashes are water resistant, you can swim and shower .
Q: Would there be any after care or home care nessacary for eyelash extensions?
A: Lash extensions are hard wearing but you should not use oil based mascara or oil based cleansers as the oil breaks down the bond.
Q: Can I use mascara?
A: Not recommended. Most people are able to achieve just the look they want without needing mascara. If you do use it, make sure it's water-based and not waterproof.
Q: How do I look after my Eyelash Extensions?
A: Try not to rub or scratch your eyes and use makeup removers and cleansers oil free, as oils can loosen the adhesive which bonds the extension to your natural eyelash.
The natural lash cycle is 45-90 days and the lash extension will fall out with the natural lash it is applied to. It is also quite normal to lose a lash extension which is placed on an older lash. With regular maintenance every 2-3 weeks and by following the aftercare advice your lash extensions will look fabulous indefinitely.
Q: Do I need a patch test?
A: Yes, even if you have had Semi Permanent Eyelash extensions before I would ask that you have a patch test first to ensure you are not allergic to the bond. This should be done 48 hours prior to your appointment.
